Ford Recalls Trucks to Fix Engine Stalls

WASHINGTON (June 7, 2005) - Ford Motor Co. is recalling 180,000 trucks with 6.0L diesel engines for electrical repairs to fix a stalling problem. Certain pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles and vans equipped with the 6.0l diesel engines may experience stalling without warning while driving and may or may not restart.

The vehicles affected by the recall are 2004 and 2005 Ford Excursions, E-350 and E-450 vans, and F-250 through F-550 Super Duty trucks.

Dealerships will check fuel injection control module (FCIM) wiring harness for chafing on recalled Excursions and Super Duty trucksand will install a protection kit if bare wires are not showing. They will replace the harness if they find bare wires.

On all of the recalled vans and some Excursions and Super Duty trucks, depending on their assembly date, dealerships will replace the injection control pressure (ICP) sensor connector terminals.
